«Georgia’s trade policy continues to focus on greater integration into the world economy, including implementation of its WTO membership obligations, and further trade policy liberalization,» DG Azevêdo noted. «Georgia has also been engaged and supportive in a wide range of WTO work, including the Trade Facilitation Agreement which it ratified in 2016. This Agreement will boost the benefits of trade for Georgia by reducing costs and removing red tape for its exporting firms.»
Georgia became a member of the WTO on 14 June 2000.
