New York, NY – (January 18, 2023) The National Football League (NFL) announced today the return of Origins: An NFL Collection ahead of Super Bowl LVII in Arizona, featuring Arizona-based design brands Ashley Macias, Elias Jade Not Afraid, Manor, and OXDX.

Launched last year for Super Bowl LVI, Origins: An NFL Collection is a grassroots merchandise collaboration program to celebrate the cultural richness of NFL event host cities and the design talent sprouting from those communities. Ashley Macias, Elias Jade Not Afraid, Manor, and OXDX will produce exclusive capsule lines of merchandise, forming a one-of-a-kind Super Bowl LVII collection, that reflects their Arizona roots combined with a passion for NFL football.

As part of the program, the NFL selected four brands with unique ties to Arizona to collaborate with the League:

  • Ashley Macias, an Arizona-based artist, creates murals birthing surreal imagery reflective of her human experience, pulling inspiration from people, the cosmic universe, and all living things
  • Elias Jade Not Afraid, founded by an Apsaalooke Nation bead artist, who created a home in Whitecone, Arizona, is a beadwork accessories line that keeps Native American traditions alive
  • Manor, an independent lifestyle brand, as well as a community-centered retail establishment, is home to the culture, grit, and creative pulse of Phoenix
  • OXDX, is an indigenous-founded fashion label that specializes in digital art, cut and sew apparel, and collaborations as an ongoing project to bring indigenous stories to the forefront

«Last year’s collection brought together a talented group of designers who created NFL-licensed Super Bowl LVI merchandise with an LA flair that resonated with our growing fashion-focused fanbase,» said Joe Ruggiero, SVP of Consumer Products at the NFL. «Now in its second year, Origins: An NFL Collection, will serve as a platform for design talent in Arizona through the origin stories behind Ashley Macias, Elias Jade Not Afraid, Manor, and OXDX

The NFL will host a pop-up retail launch event in Tempe, Arizona at The Showcase Room on February 8 to celebrate the launch of the capsule lines. Fans can exclusively shop the collection while enjoying music, refreshments, and local entertainment. The event is free to the public. To register, visit NFL.com/origins. For fans outside of Arizona, select styles from the collection will be sold online at NFLShop.com/origins beginning February 9.

«The NFL is welcoming to all communities, especially those in our event host cities. Representing more than just merchandise, Origins: An NFL Collection welcomes diverse artists into the NFL eco-system, with the opportunity to showcase their designs, community, and background through an NFL lens,» said Jonathan Beane, Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer at the NFL. «Through this program, we are able to build stronger local connections and in return create deeper engagement with fans off-field through art, culture, and representation.»

The NFL will also bring back LA-based directing duo madebyJAMES from the production company, BASEWOOD, to direct video features on each of the brands that will document each designer’s journey as a part of this year’s program.
